Happy Superbowl Weekend! It seemed timely to bring you this long-loved recipe of my family. Creamy, cheesy, and delicious, this simple slow-cooker spinach artichoke dip is perfect for gameday, parties, or a Saturday afternoon at home!
Slow-Cooker Recipes Make the Perfect Gameday Option!
I am always partial to slow-cooker recipes while hosting for a few reasons. Slow cooker recipes are wonderful for parties and gatherings because they are:
- Hot and ready to eat whenever you are
- Not time sensitive
- Easy and convenient to prepare
It’s wonderful to be able to dump a few simple ingredients in the slow cooker and leave it be the rest of the day! For this reason, I decided to convert one of my favorite recipes into a slow-cooker variety, all in the name of convenience!
What’s in the Slow-Cooker Spinach Artichoke Dip?
The ingredients are another thing that make this recipe so simple. While I love fresh spinach and artichokes, I find that the flavor of this classic dip is not hindered by using a more convenient, frozen or marinated variety. Here’s what you’ll need to prepare this delicious and simple cheese dip!
- Frozen Spinach
- Marinated quartered artichoke hearts
- Cream cheese
- Sour cream
- Shredded parmesan
- Milk
…And that’s it! 6 simple ingredients, zero prep other than “dump and sit”! I find that this recipe is delicious enough without any seasoning or salt, but if you feel it needs something upon tasting, go ahead and throw in a little salt/pepper!
What to Serve the Slow-Cooker Spinach Artichoke Dip with?
Something I love about spinach artichoke dip is the versatile “dipping” options! Here are a few of my favorite “dippers” to serve alongside this delicious dip.
- Tortilla chips
- Crackers
- Pita bread
- Veggie sticks
- French baguette
- Crouton rounds
- Cucumber
- Really anything crunchy or toasted!
Recipe Tips
Since I won’t bore you with an elaboration of the “2 step instructions” to this recipe, I’ll instead share a few tips to keep in mind while preparing/serving!
- If you prefer a more runny dip, simply add a little more milk at the end to achieve your desired consistency!
- If your dip has set out for a few hours and is becoming somewhat dry or chunkier than you prefer, simply add a little more milk to bring it back to its creamy melty consistency!
- You can adjust the ingredients of this recipe to your desired taste. For example, prefer a more cheesy dip? Add more cheese! Prefer more of an emphasis on the artichokes? Add more! Same goes for spinach, which you could also opt for fresh if you’d like! The dip flavor and consistency is easily manipulated and is difficult to “mess up”!

Alright, here’s the recipe you came for!
Slow-Cooker Spinach Artichoke Dip

- 1 Slow Cooker (Medium sized)
Ingredients
- 1 can (10 oz) marinated quartered artichoke hearts
- 2 C frozen spinach
- 3 C shredded parmesan
- 8 oz sour cream (1 C)
- 1/4 C milk
- 8 oz cream cheese (1 block – lowfat or nonfat works fine!)

Instructions
- Drain artichoke hearts. In a medium sized slow-cooker, add all ingredients and stir to combine. Save a bit of cook time by chopping the cream cheese into 1-2" pieces.
- Cook on Low for about 2 – 2.5 hours (until ingredients are melted and smooth). Turn to warm and add salt/pepper to taste as well as any extra milk if you would like a more creamy consistency. Leave on warm as you serve it! If at any point it begins to get too dry or thick, simply add a bit more milk to bring it back to life!
