Gooey, Chocolatey, and tastes like a campfire on a hot summer night! These 5-Ingredient S’mores Bars are easy, delicious, and ready in under 30 minutes! Treats like these are what childhood memories are made of – and your family is sure to love these layered S’mores bars.
5-Ingredient S’mores Bars = Summer in a Pan
Everybody loves s’mores! *Insert pun about the name here*. I could go on and on about how good S’mores are and you would certainly agree. But one thing s’mores are not is a convenient, easy, mess-free dessert.
Insert S’mores Bars: A simplified (and dare I say more delicious) version of the summertime dessert we all know and love! All the goodness of the nostalgic flavors we love, without the open flame, sticks, basically all the hazardous things you can’t bring your toddlers around.
Don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing better than sitting around a fire and toasting your own marshmallow to smash between your graham crackers. And doing that will always be my favorite! But sometimes you want all that chocolatey, gooey, graham cracker goodness… without the whole shebang.
Layered S’mores Bars Ingredients
If a campfire had a flavor, these would be it. They are everything you want in a dessert – especially in July! They are simple, kid-friendly, LOADED with gooey chocolatey flavor, and perfectly golden just like the real thing! Here are the only 5 ingredients you’ll need to make these delicious layered bars.
- Graham Cracker crumbs
- Butter
- Chocolate Chips
- Mini Marshmallows
- Sweetened Condensed Milk
Three of those you already knew… but the other two (butter and sweetened condensed milk) are the secret bullets that turn this occasional summer favorite into a convenient and delicious alternative!
How to Prepare the 5-Ingredient S’mores Bars
This is the best part! And the thing that makes this dessert so convenient. There is no need for a mixing bowl making this a minimal cleanup dish! It is a layered dessert and is 100% fool proof! Here’s how to layer your ingredients to perfectly prepare the s’mores bars for baking.
- Melt butter and pour into the bottom of a greased 9×13″ pan.
- Sprinkle graham cracker crumbs over the top of the butter (evenly) and use a spoon to distribute evenly and pat into butter (creating a “crust”).
- Once you’ve prepared the “crust” layer, sprinkle chocolate chips over the top. Do your best to evenly distribute.
- Sprinkle marshmallows, over the top of the chocolate, again evenly distributing. (sensing a trend?)
- Carefully pour the sweetened condensed milk over the top of the marshmallows, doing your best to – you guessed it – evenly distribute. See the video in the recipe below as a reference!
Easy as that! After you’ve complete these layers, you’ll throw the whole pan in the oven and bake at 350 for 30-35 minutes!

5-Ingredient S’mores Bars
5-Ingredient S’mores Bars
Equipment
- 9×13 Pan
Ingredients
- 1/2 C butter
- 2 C graham cracker crumbs
- 2 C chocolate chips
- 3 C mini marshmallows
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 dash sea salt *Optional
Instructions
- Melt butter and pour into a greased 9X13 inch pan. Preheat oven to 350.
- Sprinkle graham cracker crumbs into the pan over the butter, doing your best to evenly distribute. Use the back of a spoon to press the crumbs into the butter. For a bit of added flavor, sprinkle a bit of sea salt over the graham cracker "crust" (recommended)!
- Sprinkle chocolate chips evenly over the top of the graham cracker "crust".
- Sprinkle marshmallows evenly over the top of the chocolate chips.
- Carefully pour the sweetened condensed milk over the marhsmallows, doing your best to evenly distribute over the entire pan (indluding edges). Do not use a spoon to spread, simple drizzle over the top evenly by pouring! (Refer to video as a reference)
- Bake at 350 for 33-35 minutes (until center has set and marshmallows are golden and puffy). If you're not sure, better to err on the side of over-cooking! The marshmallows will raise quite a bit while cooking (this is good as it means the inside is cooking through), but they will fall once cooled! *Troubleshooting tip: if they aren't set enough (a little runny) once cooled, you can put them back in the oven to cook a little longer – I'd tack on 5-10 more minutes if they've almost fully cooled to give them enough time to start "bubbling" again!
- Allow to cool, then slice and serve! Store in an airtight container.
