Girls’ weekend getaways are a lot harder to come by these days! And by these days, I mean “in the trenches with young children and hopping from pregnancy to pregnancy”. While they may not be as easy and carefree to plan, they are just as – if not more – necessary than they’ve ever been! This past weekend I had the pleasure of spending time with two of my closest, longest girlfriends in a charming Southern setting. I’m excited to share some of the details from our (much needed) girls’ weekend in Savannah, Georgia!

Where We Stayed
One of our favorite parts of the trip was the gorgeous boutique hotel called home for the weekend! The Alida Hotel is conveniently nestled in the most ideal location on River street, walking distance to all of our favorite spots! It checked every one of our boxes and exceeded our expectations during our stay. Besides it’s ideal Riverfront location, here are a few of my favorite things the Alida had to offer:
Highlights of “The Alida” Boutique Hotel
- The complimentary reusable water bottles to accompany “The Nook” water & snack station located conveniently in the hallway outside our room! One of my biggest grievances about hotels is the challenge of staying hydrated. The Alida Hotel had us covered with 3 different types of water – “Cold”, “Ambient” and “Sparkling” – available all hours of the day and night. They also had fresh fruit and pre-portioned ice bags free for grabbing whenever we needed them, free of charge!
- The beds & pillows – Not much explanation necessary here! The beds & bedding were everything you dream of! Luxury & comfort kept us in bed way too late both mornings!
- Rooftop Bar & On-Site Happy Hours – You could spend an entire day on site and feel like you never missed a beat! The rooftop bar – called “The Lost Square” – was the first stop we made for drinks upon our arrival and was one of our favorites! Not only did they make a mean mocktail, but the ambiance was magical, cozy, and chic! They also have a bar on the lobby floor – the perfect spot to hit up for an espresso martini nightcap!

Where We Ate
As the pregnant lady of the group, I made it my personal goal and mission to eat all of the best food that Savannah, Georgia has to offer! For just two (less than) short days, we squeezed a whole lot of meals in! Here are a few of the places we dined and loved:
Light Breakfast
- Paris Market Coffee Shop – Great quiche, pastries, macaroons, and coffee!
- Franklin’s Coffee Shop – Delicious coffee and light bites
- Coffee Fox – The best Cappuccino I had all weekend
Lunch/Appetizers
- Treylor Park – Elevated bar food
- Zunzi’s – Eclectic lunch menu
- The Lost Square – snacks & charcuterie
- The Grove – snacks & drinks
Dinner
- Olde Pink House (the Tavern BENEATH it) – This hidden gem is a part of the “olde pink house” dynasty but does not require reservations! Candlelight only & live piano accompanied by excellent food & dessert. The best way to enjoy the Pink House menu!
- The Public Kitchen – 11ten’s underrated little sister and the best way to get great food without a ridiculous wait and price tag!
Dessert
- Leopold’s Ice Cream – The best brownie sundae I’ve ever had
- Byrd’s Famous Cookies – Fill a carton of cookies for $5
- River Street Sweets – The best pralines & fudge!
Where We Drank
- The Grove – our go to “to go” drink spot!
- The Perry Hotel
- Coffee Shops (listed above)
Where We Explored
- Forsyth Park – Right in the heart of Savannah – gorgeous trees, fountains, and light walking!
- Wormsloe Historic Site – Might be a whopping $10 for a photo in front of some trees, but the best $10 I’ve spent in a while!
- River Street Historic District – excellent shopping and dining all within walking distance of our hotel on the river!
I hope you’ve found this guide helpful in case you, too, find yourself spontaneously booking a girl’s trip to Savannah! There were many places we wanted to try and didn’t have the chance, so we’re already looking forward to our next visit! And in case you needed a push, start up that group text with your girlfriends and get to plannin’ your next getaway! I’m willing to be that, like me, you could use one!

Love, Kelsie
